Solar My House: Mosman Council & Zero Emissions Sydney Northpublic

Mosman Council and Zero Emissions Sydney North are hosting a free community information session to assist Mosman residents to install solar.

When: Thursday 5 August, 6:30pm to 7:45pm
Speakers: Ruth Irwin, Mosman Council, Ursula Hogben and Chris Lee, Zero Emissions Sydney North

– Council requirements and support for solar
– 3 case studies of Mosman households with solar
– Solar system costs, financial savings and environmental benefits
– System size, panels, batteries
– Choosing an installer

Electric Transport Expopublic

The Zero Emissions Transport volunteer team is joining the Festival of Mosman to showcase a wide range of low emissions transport options.

When: Saturday 16 October, 10am to 1pm
Venue: Mosman Village Green and Civic Centre Car Park (next to the Village Green) Mosman
Activities and info sessions:

  • Play our e-transport quiz and win a prize
  • Test ride an electric bike
  • Test drive an electric scooter
  • Check out the electric car show-and-tell, see each car inside and out, ask the owners’ questions, including Nissan Leafs, Hyundais and Teslas
  • Take home our Active Transport Guide, our How to Buy an E-Bike Guide, an electric car fact-sheet, and our Sustainable Living Guide

Zero Emissions Schools Network Mosman public

The Zero Emissions Schools Network Mosman is run and chaired by Zero Emissions Sydney North, with support from Mosman Council, and all schools in the Mosman LGA. The Network meets once per school term, 4 times per year.

Dates for 2021:
1. Wednesday 17 February 2021 – Mosman Council
2. Wednesday 19 May 2021 – Mosman Public  School
3. Wednesday 4 August 2021 – Beauty Point Public School
4. Wednesday 27 October – Sacred Heart School

Schools: Beauty Point Public School, Blessed Sacrament, Middle Harbour Public School, Mosman High School, Mosman Preparatory School, Mosman Public School, Queenwood School for Girls and Sacred Heart School.

Northern Beaches Council’s first Simplifying Solar Expo was a great chance to meet people interested in renewable energy. We were pleased to be part of it.

In June we had our first face-to-face Solar My House information session since Covid-19 began! Many thanks to Our Blue Dot and the Avalon community for making it such a success.
